Via Senator JNP:
Quote:Dear P2,
It’s a predictable pattern at this point.
Whenever the Albanese Labor government is forced into doing the right thing, it is always too weak and too late.
In this instance, it was expelling the Iranian Ambassador and listing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation after our intelligence agencies revealed the evil Iranian regime was behind at least two antisemitic attacks on our shores.
A welcome move, but a listing the Coalition has been calling on the government to do for years; a call we reiterated after the terrorists Hamas – who are sponsored by the Iranian regime – carried out their barbaric attack against Israel on October 7.
It’s Albanese’s weakness following the sordid scenes on the steps of the Sydney Opera House on October 9 that has allowed antisemitism to fester and grow in our community.
It’s what led to a march across the Sydney Harbour Bridge prominently featuring a photo of the Iranian Ayatollah.
Iran funds terror.
Iran is for genocide.
Iran spreads hatred and Australians should never again be forced to witness the images of foreign dictators or terrorist flags carried with glee on our streets.
The Albanese government’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state without any deal on the table and hostages still in Gaza just pours more fuel on the fire.
On so many foreign and domestic political issues, the Albanese government has been weak.
It can’t even call out the danger posed by the Chinese Communist Party’s military aggression.
That’s why I took to the floor of the Senate to do what the government won’t: to awaken our nation to a great danger of our age. Because Iran isn’t the only threat.
While they spread their terror abroad, the Chinese Communist Party is flexing its military muscle closer to home.
I told the Senate:
The Chinese Communist Party has militarised islands in the South China Sea. Its coastguard has harassed the Philippines. Its air force has intruded into Japan's airspace. Its navy has tested weapons off the east coast of Australia without notifying us. We cannot ignore the rehearsal nature of that exercise or the fact that its missiles can strike Australian bases and civilian infrastructure. Its forces have also endangered our servicemen and servicewomen through reckless and aggressive manoeuvres on multiple occasions.
And I called out Anthony Albanese for going on a week-long visit to China and completely ignoring these realities.
He’d like us all to believe everything is going well.
But he’s asleep at the wheel. Or worse, he doesn’t believe the Chinese Communist Party wants to become the dominant power in the region.
So, whether it's the CCP, the Iranian regime, or Hamas, this government doesn't take national security seriously.
They live in a fantasy land and ignore the threats posed by authoritarian regimes and terrorists.
That’s why they won’t match our commitment to lifting defence spending to 3 per cent of GDP.
And that’s why, every time there’s a national security crisis, the story is the same:
Anthony Albanese and Labor are too weak and too late.
Yours for REAL solutions,
Jacinta Nampijinpa Price
Senator for the Northern Territory
Shadow Minister for Defence Industry
Shadow Minister for Defence Personnel

Quote:Senator NAMPIJINPA PRICE (Northern Territory) (16:56): The coalition will not be lectured on how to tackle antisemitism in this country. The Albanese government thinks it has been on the front foot in listing the IRGC as a terrorist organisation. It thinks it has been strong. It has the gall to suggest the coalition has politicised this issue, while they have politicised it.
But Australians aren't falling for this ruse. This government hasn't been on the front foot; it's been on the back foot. This government hasn't been strong; it's been weak. From its first day in office, this government has politicised foreign policy issues to grandstand to a domestic political audience. The crisis of antisemitism afflicting our nation started with the Albanese government's supine response to the sordid scenes on the footsteps of the Sydney Opera House. Its weakness in the wake of that intolerable incident created an atmosphere of permissibility for more intolerable incidents.
As recently as 3 August some pro-Palestinian protestors gleefully carried a photo of Iran's oppressive dictator during the rally across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Prime Minister astonishingly described this event as a 'peaceful demonstration'. When we hear the calls of 'bring down genocide' and 'stop genocide', let me tell you, Iran is for genocide. Iran is for the genocide of Israel. When we hear Australians, including those who sit in this chamber, chant 'from the river to the sea', they are calling for genocide and they are calling for terror, yet the Albanese government has failed miserably to attack these sorts of calls for genocide within this country.
Iran is a totalitarian state run by the odious, revolutionary and antisemitic Iranian regime. The regime oppresses its own people. The regime funds terrorists—Hamas, the Houthis and everybody else involved that wants to see harm come to not just Israel but the West. I suggest that the Prime Minister, if he hasn't already, views the footage that I have viewed from Israel of October 7. I can never erase that from my mind—seeing children, little boys as young as nine or 10, run into a shelter while Hamas hurls a bomb. Their father comes after them, only for his body parts to be blown to smithereens. This is what Iran seeks. They sit gleefully and watch as hordes of Australians wave flags that support their symbols.
The Albanese government has been weak, and the Australian people need to stand up once and for all against antisemitism— (Time expired.)
Also from JNP, via FB:
Quote:Our national flag represents so much: our history, story, geography, resources, people, deeds, mateship, sacrifices, institutions, traditions, values, unity, loyalty and patriotism.
Our national flag speaks to the Australian Achievement: the weaving together of the Indigenous, British, and broader migrant threads of our story – each bestowing a proud inheritance.
Our national flag inspires gratitude: to our forebears for all they did to protect this country and ensure it prospers.
Our national flag reminds us of the duty of responsible citizenship: to hand over to the next generation a country better than the one we inherited.
Today’s rallies will undoubtedly be hijacked by neo-Nazis and racists who carry our national flag but reject what our flag represents.
That said, there will be many people carrying our national flag today who embody our national values and are proud and decent Australians.
And these Australians are marching because they have legitimate concerns about the impacts of unprecedented mass migration under the Albanese Government and ruptures to our social cohesion.
Some parliamentarians and members of the media have been quick to issue warnings about the rallies today. Fair enough. Protests must be peaceful.
But where were their similar warnings for so many pro-Palestinian rallies that have occurred on our soil since the sordid scenes on the steps of the Sydney Opera House on 9 October 2023? Rallies where protesters have chanted genocidal slogans, displayed Hamas symbols and Nazi swastikas, waved flags of terrorist organisations, carried photographs of Iran’s oppressive dictator – and even burnt the Australian flag.
The double standards must stop.
If we are to be a united Australia, then threats to our social cohesion must be called out wherever they are present at rallies – not selectively.
Go Team Australia!
