A sunset ramble –

Signifying SDA, except, being said out loud it helps me think. Preparation for the weekend BRB. That; and of course, it pleases me – assez dit…..

My infamous ‘bump’ of curiosity is itching like the blue blazes. That alone is bad enough – but when I can’t even put a finger on why! – well.  I thought it was to do with the Murky Machiavellian lack of ‘spark’ at estimates; but then I thought he was just crook, sick as the proverbial. I rather think he was not quite up to snuff – but; then again, in parts, he was well up to par. But, something is rum.

Then I wonder if its not just the implosion within CASA which is giving him indigestion. Boyd pulling the pin – all too hard for him apparently (poor little flower). No great loss to anyone I’d say and a good riddance. Could it be the panic deep within the management I asked? Most certainly they are in disarray; gods help them if one breaks ranks and ‘peaches’. There is only a limited access to the ‘indemnity card’; first in best dressed and all that. There is – we hear – some serious pressure coming down the line; or, as one fat, inutile  fool once said “there’s some serious shit heading in your direction” as a prelude to the most legally bizarre ‘audit’ ever staged; and no, it was not the Pel-Air shambles.

So then, where to look – certainly the Pel-Air report has been ‘seen’ by the top layer of CASA. There can be little doubt that CASA have been kept abreast of the way it is heading; many rice bowls to protect and must pay debts. Perhaps it is this which is causing the bump to itch? Certainly Hood has been ‘weighed and measured’ by the clever lads at ATSB: he ain’t bright enough to beat ‘em and if his ‘top cover’ from MM weakens – the real ATSB will eat him alive, they’ve already had his toes. So Hood’s got nothing to dance on; or not much at least.

Then I watch the ASA ‘pantomime’. The leading man has been so well rehearsed in the lines that his tiny mind can’t help him step out of the fire. Brainwashed, declared the BRB. No matter, the Senators have arbitrarily dismissed the bouncing boy in blue. Declaring they have no interest in those who are ‘match-fit’ and ready to rock ’n roll any time, any place. Whostoblame is a master of the art of discarding litter under the bus. Big money talks – bull shitters walk and there is a plenty of slush; sorry Shushi money floating about the ‘one big sky’ emporium to warrant the big guns limbering up for the under the bus idiot tossing comp.

Aye. Sitting here in the old stable workshop, pint of an excellent brew at my elbow, dogs stretched out in front of a glowing stove, loaded with oak and rosewood off cuts, a smoke and blessed solitude; it all seems so surreal; so je ne sais quoi;  far removed from the reality of life. I must consider if it is not myself off the planet. But no; there’s the flight bag, the log books on the shelf, tools sharp, clean and ready to roll, dogs fed, ET due to Skype soon, dinner smells good; and, my conscience is at rest (bar the fudge on a hidden dovetail joint).

So children – what precisely is happening at Sleepy Hollow? Enough -  I shall trouble myself no longer with the questions. This glass is almost empty, time for one more - and another smoke before dinner. Best not be late (again).
