The mystique of Beakers on again off again facial hair is almost as puzzling as the aircrafts disappearance!

- Perhaps 'Hair Beaker' (get it, Hair Beaker??) likes to change his facial appearance every time he changes the search grid for the missing plane?
- Maybe Beaker is imitating the Karate Kid - beard on, beard off, beard on, beard off?
- Does he grow the beard during the chilly Can'tberra winters, then shaves it off during the warm Can'tberra months when temps top 12 degrees?
- Has he caught some kind of facial skin disease, the type that occurs when one spends too much time with ones face mashed against a Ministers crusty white ass?
- Is the beard used as a loofah for Farmers Truss's back?
- Is the beard a good luck charm, something that he grows before flying internationally?
- Does Beaker have a 'beard MOU' with the Witchdoctor?
- Is Beaker trying to look like Hugh Jackman, the ATsB Wolverine?
