Things to 'do' list.

“Opposition Leader Susan Ley has so far remained non-committal when quizzed on whether she would change her party's approach, while Labor has insisted its renewable-led agenda is the best path forward for Australia.”

Whether its stuck on the fridge door, on the blackboard, on your phone or even scribbled on the back of an envelope; we all have a 'list' even if only in memory of the 'things' we must, or should get done (a to do list)..

Folks have a different ways of dealing with an extensive 'to-do' list; some tackle the big jobs first; others knock off the easy ones which clears the decks to sort out the monsters. Either way, the 'list' needs to be cleared. Good managers know this; and, it can be a tough job if 'you' are operating alone or with minimal cast and crew. But (and it is a big one) Ley is not a one man band. (Banjo player in the orchestra pit - perhaps)

The dreadful state of Australian aviation oversight (governance) and institutional management has descended to maybe a fair way down the 'to-do' list; and, fair enough there are some fairly hefty 'other' matters to deal with. Good managers parcel out the work, provide a time frame, and set the troops to task. Next step, meet and discuss the results, decide a plan of action and send the toilers back to the vineyard.

“While the difficult takes time, the impossible just takes a little longer.”

Tougher the job, earlier the start. It ain't rocket science,

“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”

Ley has some excellent folk on her team; many of whom have served aviation well at Estimates and in other arenas; and, even if not 'in government' there is time and scope to develop policy and plans to remedy the mess; even a challenge to question present day return on investment, and future use. Even if only on an economies platform. There is a hell of a lot of tax payer money spent abrogating ministerial and departmental responsibility. Even on a purely fiscal basis – drag the tax payers into the argument; one that they will listen to. Money well spent = Cheers. Gross waste = not so much. Cheers are votes; no spine, no examination, no accounting for 'value' for money to the ultimate bill payers? Well, perhaps the 'voters' should have their 'sums' done for 'em. Mum at the kitchen table cannot fathom this gross expenditure; but those in opposition could/ should perhaps explain the waste to the kids who need new tennis shoes and lunch money.

Toot – just saying – toot...
