Five years and 'counting'.?.
“Airservices’ contract management of the OneSKY program is partly effective.”
“Shortcomings in contract management planning, performance management and probity have limited its effectiveness in managing the contract to minimise cost increases and schedule delays.”
“Airservices has implemented partly appropriate contract management governance arrangements.”
“The Defence component of CMATS was declared a Project of Concern in October 2022 outside of the formal governance forums.”
“Airservices is partly effective in managing the contract to achieve value for money.”
"Airservices Australia strengthen guidance, education and process around accepting gifts, benefits and hospitality during contract management to address probity risks."
In summary - Airservices’ is partly effective. (No kidding – who'da thunk it).
Strange ain't it? Passing strange even; the writing was clearly 'on the wall' way back in the beginning; (see Estimates) The notion of an inquiry, Royal Commission was mooted back then; I reckon about now would turn the trick nicely. In short – FCOL somebody, somewhere get a grip on this and DO something.
ASA has been a shambolic basket case for years now; escaping serious investigation, mostly due to the courage, skill and great work ethic of our ATCOs, those end up catching the thin end of the wedge, the brickbats and little in the way of pay increase.
Time this demonstrably on going huge waste of time, money, patience and managerial incompetence was called out and rectified. Now would be great, but five years ago would have been much, much better. Alas.
Toot- toot.
