Quote:To all members and guests,
March Newsletter (ctrl & Click) now available on the AMROBA website – another election year.
As we move towards this election, one must ask what happened under this government to improve civil aviation engineering sectors:
b. How many mutual recognition agreements has the government signed with foreign nations to accept Australian manufacturers?
- Manufacturing – can manufacturers sell their products in foreign civil aviation markets?
- How many nations/regulators accept the government’s Authorised Release Certificate attached to manufactured products?
b. How many mutual recognition agreements has the government signed with foreign nations to accept Australian aircraft maintenance services?
- Maintenance – can maintenance organisations provide maintenance services for foreign aircraft and aircraft components?
- How many nations/regulators accept the government’s Authorised Release Certificate attached to maintained products?
3. Shortage of engineering personnel
a. CASRs/MOSs specifies personnel knowledge qualifications not linked to AQF qualifications.
b. ASQF qualification not covering helicopter or small aeroplanes.
c. Send copy of changes to CASA who provide regulatory oversight.
- No cooperation between CASA & ASQA to the detriment of employers.
- Red Tape Reduction – it appears that this government action has been parked
- Within the newsletter I provide an example how red tape can be reduced.
- Devolve responsibility for expansion/retract a company’s capability to the company.
Some have been asking what’s has changed since the last election.
- Did we gain simpler processes in all regulatory services?
- Still conflict between government regulations and standards
- Still duplication.
It has become harder to attract staff, that is for sure.
The Queensland government is looking at the shortage of personnel for the trades.
Not much, still plenty of red tape, etc.
Makes on wonder what the next government’s policy will provide.
