I will dispute the call to respect the CASA management because they were not responsible for the Act that created this out of control Commonwealth corporate monopoly. As far as timelines for reform are concerned, a Minister with a backbone would have some easy exemplary reforms in place in weeks, months at worst.
There’s no doubt that CASA will be told which way is up at some point in the future because the truth will out eventually. The worse they make life for GA, and that trajectory continues, in spite of Senator McDonald and Ms. Spence’s tea and sympathy, the more pressing becomes the need to reform.
A National disgrace will be uncovered, then converted into a media sensation, and Minister and Parliament will have to act.
