The curiosity bump – strikes again.
“So blind is the curiosity by which mortals are possessed, that they often conduct their minds along unexplored routes, having no reason to hope for success, but merely being willing to risk the experiment of finding whether the truth they seek lies there.”
I call it my curse; and, I know it has been responsible for the demise of many cats, but once that itch starts – well – one must scratch it. Ean Higgins for a classic example. P2's post – above – is little but bare bones; the man is 'officially' dead – end of. Enter the itch.
“Missing Australian journalist Ean Higgins is confirmed to have died in 2020, four years after his sudden disappearance, a coroner has found. Higgins, aged 62, had an extensive career at The Australian as an investigative journalist reporting on crime, corruption, politics and aviation.”
Now, I can't claim to have known Higgins well, not at all, I had perhaps a dozen or more lengthy telephone conversations with him; but never a beer (schedules). That said, I found him easy company and willing to work through a notion or question, little in the way of arrogance and not at all dismissive of sensible topics. Liked him as a man. How, when and what caused his demise is probably non of my business; however it would be nice to pay respects and say thanks for the work he did on MH 370. workman like job, interesting, astute, and worthy of praise. But then - he just 'vanished' – no one mentioned him; sick, or injured or run off to Monte Carlo with a dancing girl – nothing; just silence, even from the media which, of itself is puzzling, considering. For instance:-
“Prominent Australian journalist and MH370 author Ean Higgins, who has been a missing person for several years, is confirmed to have died in 2020, a coronial inquest has heard.” etc. - HERE.
How, where and why; or of what? Where was the man; what caused the abrupt departure? Non of my business – I know but this infernal curiosity. – For those with an interest; access to the coronial documents is 'tricky' – see -HERE – and it becomes seriously formidable in the details – HERE -. ALL too much for my wooden head; but by Golly, I'd like to know how the Higgins story ended. Tailwinds and blue skies mate;
Toot – toot...
